Hey everyone!
This month, my American Beauty box arrived second. This months box contained two nail polish colors that I do not already own, so it was a very exciting day to get the mail.
As always,
If you're not sure what the Julep Maven program is, here's a link to my post detailing the program. If you would like to go sign up, or check it out, here's the link for the Julep Website!
This months preview image looked like this:
Usually, I am not a fan of purple. But these colors are just so bright and pretty that they sucked me right in. If you already own and love Helena and Taylor, then Anne will fit right into your collection! I'm super into the shimmer finish right now, so Maria made me happy to see too.
Then we have the pomegranate scrub, and the bonus thank you gift for being an original maven. Sweet!
Okay time for the unboxing! I always like to juxtapose the promo images with my own so that you all can get a better sense of what the colors really look like a little bit better.
Here you can see the nice little card explaining what is in the box. In this box, it was on top. Not sure why it was on the bottom in my Boho Glam, but that's okay!
Then we have the adorable cello bag, with the goodies inside, all tied up nicely with the grey ribbon. So pretty!
Here you can see the colors, the nail therapy, pomegranate body scrub, and the bonus sample of the nail polish remover pad! I know I mentioned it in the Boho Glam review, but just in case there is someone who didn't read that one, I used the nail polish pad already and will have a review up for you all soon! I also am going to let you know how the body scrub works out. They fixed a packaging flaw that happened with the lotion last month, that resulted in many people ending up with lotions that came open in transit. Thankfully this month they heat sealed the jars, which is a definite improvement! I prefer heat sealed products because they're more sanitary and look much nicer for gift giving purposes.
Here's my try to get a close up shot of the colors for you. My camera had a really hard time with this, and they turned out much much lighter looking than they are. I would say that Anne is about 2 shades darker than the polish appears in this photo, and Maria has more pink in it. For Maria, I would compare the color to a metallic rose pink that completely reminds me of a metallic barbie jacket from the 80's. I know that's probably a terrible description but it is what keeps popping in my head when I look at it.
This box was the one I was definitely most excited about to receive this month! Both colors are new to me, and are both really pretty wearable shades. I love that they gave one cream finish and one metallic so that we can have both!
The theme this month was Resort Collection, and I really feel that these bright fun colors mixed with trendy shimmers absolutely captured that.
Every month surprises me and I'm super happy to be part of this program.

Julep Maven American Beauty September Unboxing!
My box containing the American Beauty September pull from the Julep Maven Program arrived today! Hooray!
So now I get to show you the unboxing of another gorgeous new fall color, Boris & Nicole.
This box is for the style profile of "American Beauty". If you follow, you already know that I subscribed to American Beauty first, but fell in love with the Boho Glam style profile after originally signing up, so now I get both. So far I've been very pleased with box boxes, because they're completely different from one another!
If you end up joining, make sure to put in the coupon code FB to save yourself money and get the first intro box which includes 2 nail colors, a treatment, and the glycolic hand scrub, for only $5! That's a total steal.

Opening up the box, everything was packaged beautifully as always! They put everything inside a gift bag, and tied a little orange ribbon bow onto it. Inside, my polish and cuticle oil were packaged together wrapped up in orange tissue. Very fall appropriate! Included was a set with the Crystal Nail File, and the Lint Remover, since I was one of the first 100 subscribers to the Maven Program, then we have the SPF 30 Hand Cream, 2 sample pouches, the bottle of cuticle oil, and the nail color Boris & Nicole!

Boris & Nicole is a gorgeous very rich, very fall color! I have to say, when I read the description of "Red Brown" that they sent me, I immediately was picturing a weird brick red, and wondering if I hadn't have put in for a shelf pull because I was extremely skeptical if they could pull it off, much like I was with Alfre!
Well I shouldn't have worried.
Boris & Nicole is a gorgeous burgundy raspberry with gold shimmer swirls. It reminds me of fall leaves, and holiday parties and Thanksgiving. It's a shimmer and I got opaque coverage with just one coat. This polish painted on very smoothly, and looks beautiful!
Unfortunately, none of my photos can do this gorgeous color justice! It's just beautiful in person, not at all what I was imagining.
Here's a swatch of what it looks like on me. Please excuse the left handed paintjob, and the bad lighting. What you see is one coat of Boris & Nicole.
Once again, I'm so happy that the Maven Program selects colors, because so far I've gotten about 4 colors I would have never picked by myself, but I adore all of them.
I'm eying the beautiful forest green color, Emilie, and Zoe, the burnt orange. All the new fall colors can be seen on the Julep website. Enjoy looking and post your thoughts on these colors if you already own them, or are buying them. I'd love to know others opinions on them too.
Right now, Julep has a great set that includes Alfre, Emilie, and Zoe on sale for $35 instead of the regular price of $42. So if you're interested in the fall colors, that might be a great way to get to try 3 out of the 4 for a discounted price! If I did not already own Alfre, I would have purchased that set already. Who knows, I might end up purchasing it and using the extra bottle of Alfre for a future give away.
Thanks for reading!

Julep Maven American Beauty Unboxing!
Yesterday I received my first Julep Maven box in the mail! So exciting. If you're not sure what the Julep Maven Program is, basically you take a quiz and sign up and you get assigned a "style profile". If you don't like the one you get, you can try re-taking the quiz to get one of 5 different results. They send you an "editors box" similar to the boxes that they send to magazine editors to promote their new colors. You get sent 1 box every month that contains new colors or new products of theirs to sample and test out before anyone else can get them! If you don't like a color they pick, you can have them pull a new one instead, and the program is one of the most flexible subscription programs I have seen. You are allowed to send the box to someone else if you want, skip that month, cancel or have a shelf pull of different product taken, all with no extra fees or consequences. That was one of the main reasons I signed up, since most of the others have hidden fees and catches.
When I took the quiz, I got assigned "American Beauty", which included 1 nail treatment, 1 bottle of Cameron, a nice bright pink, and a bottle of Alfre, a "royal purple", which I would describe much more as a gunmetal grey with purple undertones.
Opening the box, there was a really nice handsigned Thank You letter for being one of people in the "soft launch" to sign up. So sweet and nice!
Opening the box, everything was packaged beautifully! The extra bottle of nail polish you see in there is Sienna, a lovely shimmery bronze gold. I ordered that separately and they put it in the same box.
Included in my box was a full size bottle of the Glycolic Hand Scrub, 1 bottle of Nail Treatment, 1 bottle of Cameron, 1 bottle of Alfre, and 4 sample packets!
Here's a close up of all the product, including the bottle of Sienna. Left to right is: Sienna, Cameron, Alfre, and the Nail Treatment.
The only somewhat disappointing thing for me is that Cameron is an exact dupe of Niecy. So if you're looking for a nice bright pink, either of these should work since they're the same color. If I had been able to use the "shelf pull" option, I would have used it on the Cameron color since I don't really need 2 of the same exact pink.
Also, I found all the results and realized that Boho Glam is a better fit for me, unfortunately. I'm really not sure if we are able to switch style profiles, but it was a little disappointing to realize that the quiz had a better fit for me than the one I got. But this program is new, and the experience over all is totally worth the price. If you sign up, make sure to use the code TWITTER for 50% off your first box! Then you can have $40 worth of product for only $10. Another perk is, if you sign up for the Julep Maven program, you get free shipping as long as you are a member, and 20% off of any other orders you make! Pretty sweet deal.
I am excited to see what Septembers pulls will be, and that I got to try this program out. My favorite is Alfre, because it's a beautiful shimmery lavender gunmetal grey color which will be perfect for this fall.
Thank you Julep!
Go check it out and see what style profile you get! If you end up getting your own box, comment and let me know how yours was too. I love seeing what everyone else is getting and so far I've only seen 1 other person who had the same box as mine.
Just as a note, I paid for the Julep Maven program out of my own pocket, they did not furnish product for me to review.
